I’m Cody James Dummer (Doomer). Nice to meet you!

I’m a Creative Director / Copywriter in the traditional sense with a non-traditional sweet tooth for all things social/digital.

To me it’s always about the idea first, not the placement. I love to solve complex, sometimes unrecognized problems with inventive digital and traditional storytelling that can transform how a brand is perceived.

I’m a hype man for my people, their ideas, and the client collaboration that’s essential to creating positive, long-term impact. My goal wherever I go is to foster creative environments with endless possibility and inclusivity because when you put your people first, the amazing, award-winning ideas always follow.

Previously

For a short stint, I was a Creative Director at ROSEWOOD Creative leading content creation for Robinhood and Apple TV+. Prior to that, I was a co-creative lead on the Burger King Social/Digital business at MullenLowe U.S. Boston for four years, and also worked on major campaigns for Royal Caribbean and JetBlue. I’ve been fortunate enough to lead and mentor some of the best talent, and create many award-winning campaigns along the way receiving recognition from Cannes, D&AD, One Show, Webbys, and the Gerety Awards. In 2020, I found myself ranked #7 on the One Show’s Global Creative Director rankings. That was a very humbling surprise…

Before MullenLowe, I worked at AKQA on all things digital serving as the primary copywriter on Nike Running’s social channels, along with creating and launching Nike Training’s social channels.

WHEN I REALIZED I WAS A BIT OF DIGITAL TROUBLEMAKER…

Well, in 6th grade, I logged onto AOL dial-up while my parents weren’t home, entered a public chat room, and uttered my first two words on the internet:

“f*** youuu”

Why? I just wanted to get a reaction out of people and see what they said.

Little did I know that would be one of my first social experiments in community building. Everyone in the chat said the same thing back, and then a thread of “hahahahaha’s” ensued.

Years later as an adult with a better vocabulary (hopefully), I’ve been fortunate enough to create impactful campaign work for some of the biggest brands in the world including Nike, Burger King, Royal Caribbean, Microsoft, and JetBlue.
